AMAZÓNICA
“Selva Amazónica” 2013-2015
This jungle is the largest tropical forest in the world and extends through nine countries in Latin America: Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana.
The series consist of 24 oil paintings on canvas. The paintings are inspired by nature and life in Latin America, her home country Venezuela. It is about the daily life and liabilities of working women. Christina Lappa’s art is characterized by bright colors and contrast. The female figure of the Artist is a symbol of creativity, internal autonomy, erotism, simplicity, femininity, sensuality, offerings, intellectual, potential, and wisdom.
